I bought this hair dryer because my stylist uses it. So, I had first hand experience with it from the other side of the gun. All in all, it has been great in the 4 months I've used it so far. I have little girls, whose hair I dry, so its important that it is quiet, so I can have conversations with them, and it is fast, so they don't get too impatient and run out of the bathroom before their hair is dry. It gets very hot, so be careful. It is truly a professional product and needs to be treated as such. I noticed the effect of the ionization at first, but perhaps I'm used to it now, so it doesn't seem like a big deal anymore. In any case, this this works extremely well, and the price was also very good, particularly when compared to the other "pro" quality dryers out there. I'm very pleased with it, and the only remaining question is the reliability. When shopping around, a salesperson in NYC disparaged the motor in the CHI as unrepairable. We shall see.

I was very excited to get this hair dryer! It is somewhat pricey but I would say that it was worth it. My hair does feel smoother when using this dryer rather than my old cheaper ones. The dryer does get very, very hot so don't hold it too close to your wet scalp. Other than that tiny issue I have had no problems. I also like how the cold air option has an on-off switch instead of having to be held down. Overall, the price is definitely worth the results!

I'm a hairdresser and I had this blowdryer for a lil over a year and I loved it. It was always real hot, quiet, light weight. Then it dies on me but I loved it so much I decided to get another one this time off amazon instead of thehair store. I guess they redesigned it or something because after 2 wks of having it got really loud the cool shock would come on every 5 seconds like w the old red chi blowdryer(the reason I stopped using that one as well). And it doesn't get as hot as the old rocket I had. I don't know whether it's chi fault and I got their crappy mistake or if it was amzons fault but either way a month after I bought it I had to go by a new blowdryer that worked faster.

I generally don't write reviews, but I was blown away by this hair dryer (no pun intended). It's truly an engineering feat that this hair dryer possesses the characteristics of being both powerful and quiet while simultaneously having an EXTREMELY low weight. (This last characteristic became important to me when, at one point, while using my SuperSolano, my neck suddenly went out while drying my hair one morning - not fun!)

Upon my initial use of the CHI Rocket, it seemed that it had very little power, but before I knew it, my hair was dry AND smooth (my hair type is wavy and very long), and I wasn't working very hard to get it that way; I would surmise that it cut my drying time by 30% - 40%. Also (and possibly more importantly), upon waking the following morning, my hair still looked great - and I usually have to wash my hair every single morning, without fail. Given that this time of the year is the most humid, the results of my "morning test" become even more impressive.

For the Amazon price, this dryer seems that it would be a good investment, given it is a tool that I usually must use on a daily basis (saves time,time is money, and all that jazz). I generally am extremely skeptical about a beauty product's or tool's scientific claims (ion technology, biochemical therapeutic claims, etc.) given that my background is in the sciences, so I know that half of the claims are false or can be achieved by a $3 product/tool competitor, but someone knew what they were doing when they designed this puppy, so I'm more apt to believe that it's better for hair health as well; what is definitely true is that cutting drying time will save some hair damage.

Great product. Fingers crossed that it lasts!

This is an amazing blow dryer. When my old one finally died, I was immediately on a mission to replace it with the "EXACT" same one. Once again, I am a very satisfied customer with this Chi Rocket product. Works great and dries you hair in lightning speed, all without damaging or drying out your hair.
